James Toddler Room

We can't believe how big our sweet boy is getting! He turned two this month AND this past weekend transitioned to his toddler bed! I am so thankful how smoothly that has gone so far! He hasent even hopped out once. I think he kind of loves it. He was so cramped in his pack and play. I will say I enjoy being able to (kind of) crawl into bed with him in the morning when he is just waking up. It is quite the task with this giant belly though!;)
In honor of his big milestone I thought I'd share his toddler room so far. Jess got a lot hung up in here for me this weekend, finally!:) haha
I will be adding a white ceramic deer head in the frame above his bed. I ordered off of zulily so it could be Christmas before it up!;) I would also like to add either a Pom Pom or flag banner to that same wall.
**
**
Here is his teepee/ book reading wall. I am planning on adding a tree branch hanging from the ceiling above the teepee and also another frame in the "collage" already there with cloud and a moon stuffed pillows in them. Also making the fireplace into a bookshelf and painting the brown child's chair white!
**
**
Here's his school desk!:) we are planning on making most of this wall into a chalkboard!

Shelves daddy made for him!:)

We'll that's about it for now! I will hopefully get up some more pics once things are done!

Now to start on sissies nursery!:) we had a 30week sono this past week! She is still a Girl!;) here's a shot of her sweet little face!:)

James 2nd birthday

Yesterday little James turned TWO! I still am in shock how fast time is flying by especially since this guy has been born. It makes it even more real looking back at these pics...that wasn't just yesterday?!?
Funny thing is..I used to not really like this pic bc I am all sweaty and gross looking. Now I love it! I love the brand new baby and adoring momma look of this!

Here's my sweet little 2 year old enjoying his birthday pancakes.

We ended up going to a local apple orchard with his cousins, aunts, and grandmas. That was an absolute BLAST!:) this orchard is a long time favorite. It has a gift shop, bakery/eatery, animals, playground and all other sorts of fun things! Generally we like to wait till after sep 1st to go but decided to go earlier for his bday. It was by far the best. Not near as crowded as it gets in the fall!:)
James could barely withstand his excitement about the goats and chickens they had, AND you can feed them which he was thrilled with!

Playing with his cousins.
Afterwards, we met up with Jess for a quick lunch. He also got off work early and we took little James swimming! James was napping when he officially turned 2 at 3:24 pm but you better believe I snuck in a gave him a kiss anyways!;) It was a wonderful day!:) We love you so much little boy and can't wait for all our new adventures to come! Next up, a little sissy to love on!:)

A couple of updates..

So we have been hard at work on a couple projects around the house. I am definently starting to feel the pressure to get things done before baby girl makes her debut (or maybe it's just nesting!;) anyways, our biggest project that had been (almost) all the way tackled is the kitchen. The things I wanted changed in here was the laminate floors, old cabinets, a decorative front for the island, and last but not least a DISHWASHER! Jess has gotten to most of it but there's still the finishing touches that need done. I know what a guy!;)
Here are my new cabinets. Yay!! I just am so in love with them! They are actually a garage sale find. They were an old built in that Jess took apart into cabinets. We scored them for $100. We still need to add some crown moulding up top the upper cabinets, put beadboard and countertops on the lower cabinets. I actually ended up tucking my garbage can out of sight in one of the bottom cabinets and LOVE that it's out of sight. James was a bit disappointed though as he loves throwing all my garbage, and even not garbage, away "for me." ;)

**
Here is the decorative end to our island. I just love how it came together. That is chalked up to jesses handy work. He is seriously the best. The chairs I found at a garage sale for $10 for the pair! I would like to make cusions for the seats but am debating back and forth as it is so great that they are wipe able with a 2 year old!
You can also see here a pretty good shot of the new (well old, but new to us) floor. We took up the icky cheapy light colored laminate and just stained the old plank floors underneath! We both loved the results of that too!
**
**
This dishwasher is probably my favorite new feature to the kitchen! Who actually knew they would save so much time?! Not to mention counter space!! She is second hand actually. Picked her up for $200<- happy Mother's Day to me!;)
**
**
This is a shot of the kitchen when we first saw our house... Amazing what a little paint does, right?
**
**
Another little before and after of the cabinets. (Once we get them finished I will post more pics!!)
So far the whole kitchen remodel has been around $400-$450 (including cabinets and dishwasher) I would love to eventually add marble countertops and a new sink but that is probably a ways off.
**
**
Another couple projects on the to-do list are James toddler room and baby girls nursery... Actually we are going to be updating all our bedrooms upstairs. We are refinishing the upstairs floors in about 2 weeks so after that I will get started with the rearranging!
This is a little taste of James toddler room. We got the walls/woodwork painted. These are some items I've chosen to go in his room. For his bday a little over a month away #tear. We will be getting him a teepee for up here! I just love love love the look of those and dear auntie shell said she would make it so we don't have to spend as much $$.
**
**
Baby girls room will be light pink, cream, grey, and gold with a hint of parisian elegance. Here is some goodies for her room. You can see the bedding behind the print.
**
**
I actually did splurge on her bedding from Restoration Hardware. Anyone who knows me knows that that took a lot of thought since I am literally the garage sale queen. (Pretty much everything I own is garage sale/ flee market finds) but omg the bedding was worth the splurge. It was literally the perfect color of pink. I only ended up buying a dust ruffle, bumper pad and sheet because my momma is going to make a grey quilt to go in her crib. We thought that would offset the pink well.
It's hard to tell from the pic but the sheet has little dancing ballerinas!:)
Well that's about it for now. Have a great end of your week!!

A little surprise in October

Well..I'm up to my old tricks of not posting very often. I do feel like I have a better excuse this time though! I haven't been feeling the best lately and heres a pic of the culprate below!;) hehe
Little baby blessing number 2!!!!
Little snuggle is due Oct 24. We just turned 10 whole weeks today! Jess and I are both guessing on girl this time around. We had a sono on the 25 and this little was a lot calmer in the womb than James was at this age. It just moved it's sweet little arms. We think baby was trying to wave at James!;)
**
**
And heres the big brother. He found one of my old Dolly's and was cuddling her. So we just know he's going to be a great big bro!!:)
**
**
Also he's so responsible, helping momma with the dishes here! Love that guy!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!:)

Changes to the dressing room

I'm back with some updates on my dressing room!:) Some of you may remeber the oh-so-lovely but covered by that awful polka doted, contact paper, type-crazy-stuff (before pics below)...well it finally got it's long overdue makeover this past week! *YAY*
Here's the finished project below:
It is painted a very pale pink (marzipan pink from Menard's) with mercury glass knobs from good ole Hobby Lobby!!:)
Vanity lamps from a local French type farmers market (Moss Avenue) for 10 bucks
