Porch chandeliers and leaf shaped toast

Today I'm going to show a quick step by step(well sort of) of how I spray painted two free chandeliers that we will be using for our porch.
This here is the *almost* finished product:

I just need to add some candles
**
**
They started out this lovely gold color. Someone was giving them away free at a garage sale. They sat in my basement awhile and I finally took them upstairs to take them apart.
**
**
You can see here I took out all the wires. They were in usable shape but it would be a ton of work to hook them up and seeing how I'm no electrician!;) I decided to put candles in them for light.
**
**
Here's the spray painting process after the were all taken apart.
Spray paint color: krylon gloss white
**
**
Here it is put together.( I put two more coats spray paint after I hang them up!:)
**
**
Add some bling!:) and candles to come also! One is also going to go above the table on the porch but Jess needs to put a hook up still!:)
And there you have it...two very cheap porch chandeliers!:)

**
**
I found this delish bread while strolling krogers aisles yesterday evening! Of course, I had to buy one of each!;)
**
**
This morning James got a piece cut into leaf shapes for breakfast! Yummy in the tummy!!:)
**
**
**
**
Then just a quick entry room update...

Have a great rest of your week!!:)

Autumn porch and other Festivities

James and I came home from church to give him a nap while Jess stayed to teach or children's youth group. We are hoping to head to Panera for a warm cup of joe this evening. If we are wanting it to be a fun time, king James will need his nap!;) so I thought I'd take the time to post about my fall porch.
This is the view when you come up the steps to the front door. We are hoping to get some clean up done before winter...pressure wash, paint, add a cover to the crazy outside light... You know, that fun kind of stuff!;)
**
**

Remember the garage sale children's wicker set... It made its debut to the porch!:) I would eventually like to put a REAL wicker sofa here but this fits perfectly for now. Also, James loves it bc it's just  his size!;) hehe
**
**
Across from the children's set are the two chairs. The one on the left was Jesses grandma jeans chair! I would also like to paint the mailbox so it's not so much of an eye sore...but eventually I'd really like to have an old Victorian looking one for the yard!:)
**
**
Then back in the little cave of the porch we put a table. It's really nice to eat out here...you can even kind of see James little booster peeking up above one of the seats!;)
**
**
Im not one to put out much decor for Halloween... But this little haunted house from my aunt beck is the bomb...it's super cute lighted up at night too!:)
**
**
**
**
Here's some nighttime pics I took before I got most of everything put out...
**
**
**
**
Last night on our historic square(literally two blocks from our house!!) they had a really fun fall festival. Jess, James, and I walked up. We got really yummy locally made pumpkin ice cream and all the stores were open late so we went through to see all the fun decorations. In the middle of the square they had vendors selling yummy drinks, pumpkins(where I got mine!), and had an alpaca you could pet!
**
**
I think we can say this was all our favorite part...they were giving free carriage rides(yes horses and all!!:D) James of course loved the horseys!:)
**
**
And last but not least here is James hamming it up in his new clothes!
**
**
Hope everyone is having a blessed rest of the weekend!! Xo

Fall goodies and DS bathroom

Yesterday my mom, sisters and I jumped in the car for a quick trip to the mall while one of my other sisters watched the kiddos! (Hallelujah!!) we ran to Gymbo, little kid and big kid Gap;) hehe

I scored on some awesome clothes for sweet baby J!:) Usually he gets g. Sale clothes..I have found some pretty sweet stuff that way! But it totally didn't cross  my mind that he may still be in 12-18 months when it hit fall. So, I only had shorts in that size no pants whatsoever, bummer! Naturally I had to run to the gap, one of my very favorite places for baby cloths, to find a cute pair of jeans for fall!:) I ended up finding some adorable Halloween/thanksgiving Jammie's at Gymboree for only $8/pair after all my coupons and store deals they were having!!:D yay, yay double YAY!!! Seeing how he wears them all day long when were home made me not even feel a little bit bad about that purchase! Also, knowing how I love to be festive it makes my little heart do flip flops!:) I also got him the cute grey owl sock, which will pretty much go with everything fall I have, came from Gymbo too! The dragon slippers I picked up to put away for next year bc there cute and adorable and for the price I couldn't pass them up! I got him the adorable pants and shirt from baby gap both on sale, plus the store was running a 30% off deal!! *happy dance* The shirt reminds me to death of Hercule Poirot from the Agatha Christie novels!
**
**
Here's a little glimpse of our DS bathroom. Not that everyone enjoys seeing a toilet on a blog, but i just thought id share it anyways!;) I just added this little lamp chandelier to the room and I ADORE it! It still needs some work on the wall decor but for now I am satisfied! Ps sorry for the low quality pics!:/

Yay it's fall!!

Ok, so "technically" it's not fall yet... But in my house September 1st starts the festivities!:) This is also my birthday month which makes it even more exciting!!:) so we kicked it off with decorating our house and making a fall themed supper.

So I haven't actually taken many pics of the decorating yet but I did share this pic on my instagram page! Mostly because its not quite "there" yet seeing how a lot that is left is not ready outside! (Leaves pumpkins etcπŸŽƒπŸ) as soon as I get time ill post some pics!:)
**
**
Here's James destroying my decor as fast as I can put it up. I think he's enjoying the holiday so far!;)
**
**
Ok so here's some pics of supper I made on fall night...here's the link to the apple dumpling recipe!
http://aprongirls.blogspot.com/2009/10/apple-dumplings-recipe.html?m=1
This is just some chicken breast that I added a few spics too. I think it was chicken broth with nutmeg cinnamon, and cloves. Wasn't sure if I'd like how it tasted but I think it turned out fine!:)
**
**
Then for the most exciting part I made apple dumplings. I found a really yummy recipe on Pinterest! Would totally make it again!
Pie crust

Except for the syrup these are ready for the oven!

Saw this pic and had to post it!!:)
So Jess James and I are driving back home from Ohio right now- _ - it was a lot of fun but I am so ready for bed and we still have a long way to go! Hehe have a blessed week!

James nursery...yes again

Ok, so I was looking through my past blog posts and realized I have quite a few of James nursery... Of course it is a pretty hip happening place now since James has been born.;) hehe. I thought I'd go ahead and post it anyways! This room I have never quite been satisfied with since its been done... And it seems the more I try the more it looks like I've just "thrown" things on the walls! Ugh!! So I've decided to just stop judging it for awhile!;) sit back and gather ideas for his upcoming toddler room!*tear* so here's James nursery (of course it's normally not this clean!)

This past week has been the kind of week you thought would never end! We were so busy at the start of the week then James came down with a cold/runny nose 😞😷 not to mention it was hotter the Heck out! Oh well, most weeks are usually not quite so busy. I am so excited for tomorrow... Jess is off and we are taking a road trip to the St. Louis zoo!:) James has really been into animals lately, so I bet he'll be thrilled! I have been painting, painting, painting on my trim so hopefully I can get some pics up off that as I finish! The entry way is just about there. Well James and I are going to spend some "date time" together while daddies gone for an hour or so! Hope everyone has a great Labor Day tomorrow!!πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
